What is the AMT Pathways Program?

Option One: Cohort Enrollment in Partnership with a Participating High School
Cape Cod Community College's (4C's) AMT Pathways Program is structured for partnering high schools to deliver the classroom instruction. This setup requires an official partnership with the participating school system, which incorporates the curriculum into their schedule and provides a high school teacher to lead the classroom instruction for a group of students. The lab sessions are conducted by a 4C's AMT Instructor at the college's Aviation Center located at Plymouth Municipal Airport. Through this unique partnership structure, students will engage in learning with their high school teacher, under the guidance of a FAA Certified Instructor, helping them acquire critical skills in aviation maintenance.

Option Two: Individual Student Enrollment
Individual students interested in enrolling in our AMT Pathways program will be required to have an assigned teacher at their high school to support their progress. This dedicated support ensures students stay on track and receive the guidance they need to complete their training.

Important Note: Students must be in their junior year (11th grade) at the beginning of Module 1 to participate in this program.

How Does It Work?
In partnership with Choose Aerospace, students will engage with a nationally recognized e-learning platform, combining online tools like video lectures, e-books, and virtual/augmented reality simulations, with classroom and hands-on lab training on real aircraft at Aviation Center in Plymouth.

Application Form

Program Benefits for Your Students: Students who successfully complete the approximately 500-hour AMT Pathways Program curriculum (including all required labs) will be eligible to:

    • Take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) General Certification Written Exam.
    • Apply for Associate in Applied Science Aviation Maintenance Technology degree program at 4Cs.
    • Upon acceptance in to our A.A.S. AMT degree program, students can apply for 12 credit of CPL (credits for prior learning) to fulfill the course requirements of AMT 110 and AMT 120. Students must submit a copy of their FAA certificate and complete an internal CPL form in order to receive academic credits. The 12 credits of CPL cannot be applied to the AMT Certificate programs. (The 12 credits of CPL are not able to be separated for this program and/or matched to a specific course).
    • Interview with local aviation companies for part-time internships.
    • Set the foundation for a career in aviation, with potential earnings ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually.

Program Cost: $1,658 per student. One-year program / 2 learning modules, $829 per module. Payment plans available. Scholarships are need-based.

Program Schedule: 2-3 days/afternoons per week engaged in classroom and working hands-on in our labs at Plymouth Municipal Airport. The lab sessions are a crucial component of this program and are required to successfully complete the program.

The 2-module program is offered over the course of one year (January - December) and is intended for use in a high school classroom (years 11 and 12), but the modular content facilitates a flexible approach to meet a wide-range of schedule and program needs. However, students must be in their junior year (11th grade) to participate in this program.
